My name is April Popaditch, wife of Gysgt Nick Popaditch (ret) AKA Cee-gar Marine to FreeRepublic. This web site was such a source of strength to my family and I when my husband was wounded in Fallujah, Iraq April 2004. The beauty of the words and prayers that we read on a daily basis from all of you, will stay in our hearts forever. Military life is a sacrifice but one you never regret. Support from people you've never met, is life affirming and gives us the strength to carry on our new missions in life.
I hear on the news programs people asking, where are all the good military stories? I am proud to say that Nick and I have one to share. Our Generals, Congressmen and people who have never known anyone in uniform have embraced "Once A Marine". I am not too savy on how to cut and paste the book's site into this post, but I here is the website www.onceamarine.com. I hope you get a chance to read it, Nick felt strange at first doing a book until he realized that he was telling a story about more than just himself. We have been in a world with Heroes all around us, in and out uniform. I hope this book will make you all proud. Thank you again for all your support!

...and they will see the solid good natured fellowship of our site as we strive to keep our men and women in uniform supported and recognized.
My Chris had a good mid-deployment liberty in July and is back in Bagram for the balance of his fifteen months. I hope your Chris is also doing well on his deployment. If he is like mine, however, they aren't always that good at keeping in touch. LOL.
