I, as a combat veteran, appreciate your concern, and if this event is to be a demonstration of moral support to our warriors, past and present, then not only do you have my unflagging support, but I wish that I could stand at your side.

It is of the utmost importance, however, that any act of violence be on the part of the enemy. The Communists have been the universal villain of the last century...fear of the KDP, the German communist party of the German Weimar Republic, helped immeasurably to put the Nazis in power, and the atrocities in North Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, and throughout subsaharan Africa and Latin America by Communist governments defy description...but their day as the world's bogeyman ended when Mikhail Gorbachev announced the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The Communist threat, the Red Menace, is gone.

So, there are a few fringe psychos out there urging the troops to rebel against their officers, a few unrepentant Marxist-Leninists who wish to recapture the half of the globe that they have irrevocably lost. Look on them with pity, Brother, and bear in mind that they have the same right to express their (admittedly loopy) views as you or I.

As to any actual sabotage of the Vietnam Memorial; I cannot imagine any event that would so enrage the American public. The Lefties who control our media would not be perturbed, but I can assure you that, around the country, average citizens would be ready to snatch their rifles out of the closet.

My advice...leave the security of the Wall in the hands of the authorities (I almost choked on those words). And leave revenge of any atrocity in the hands of the American people.

Take the moral High Ground.

All that you say is true. All that you say is past. How will history view Marxist-Leninism...Communism? It was an extraordinarily vigorous political wave that swept the globe over the course of the 20th century, accompanied by the most atrocious genocides ever committed...to date. The greatest monster humanity has yet produced was its spawn; Josef Stalin, who murdered 20,000,000 of his own citizens. His legacy lingers today; the recently departed (and unlamented) Saddam Hussein was a devout Stalinist.

I am intrigued by your use of the term 'Nazi' to denote the apex of human evil. Nasty as they were, the Nazis were the merest neophytes when compared to the, now defunct, Communists.

Given the chilling effect of this history, one wonders what monstrosity is coming next.
