Nice weather here, how about your way??
Not too, hot days and wonderful cool temps for good sleeping.
It's been nice, while you guys were getting all the rain we stayed fairly dry.
I drove across the state last weekend and saw all the areas where there was flooding. The marks on the trees where the water was, was incredible. No wonder why they shut down so much of the thruway.
Did you get any of the flooding?
No flooding in the immediate area. There was some in rural areas, country roads over run creeks clogged with debris.
The real damage I suspect you saw was far south of me.
I'm back from Church..
The 90 thruway around the Mohawk river was over the top of the thruway, mud lines 2 to 4 feet higher than the road. Amazing to think the water could get that high.
Glad to know you were out of harms way.
Good morning feather.
A nice Monday picture for the Foxhole Crew

Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not fully follow the Lord. 1 Kings 11:6
Why do smart people do not-so-smart things? Time after time I hear sad stories about people with high IQs who fall short in the area of moral discernment, leading to tragic results. Obviously, a good brain isnt enough to keep a person from making bad choices.
This contradicts the belief of some that better education can solve societys ills. The reasoning goes like this: If we educate people about the dangers of _________, they wont do it and thus will be spared from unpleasant, unintended consequences.
But experience and the Bible tell us something different. In fact, the smartest man who ever lived could serve as a poster boy for bad choices.
Ancient Israels King Solomon, author of much of the book of Proverbs, wrote, Keep your heart with all diligence (4:23) and Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding (14:33). Despite knowing the connection between the heart and wisdom, the king disobeyed God by marrying foreign women who turned his heart after other gods (1 Kings 11:4). As a result, the Lord said, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you (v.11).
The ability to make good decisions demands a heart devoted to God.

Mornin' folks.
Nice to see you all at home here. And I am hoping congrats are in order on the posts I just saw about Snippy's job starting.
I've been working away in a location without phone service (other than my cell phone) or internet service for 5 weeks. Isn't that a throwback to the past? Glad to see the Foxhole is still right where I left her. :-)
Hi Wneighbor!! Good to hear from you!
Hello Miss Feather! It's good to be heard from too!!! I forgot what it was like not to have internet at least once a day!!! YIKES!!!!
Heard ya'll were having some tough weather up your way. Hope it didn't get you at your place.
It's hard indeed not have access to the Internet. My area was spared from flooding. A blessing for sure.
Well, Praise God!!! I'm glad you didn't get flooding. :-)
As for us, we were just tickled pink to get 2 pretty good rainshowers last week after not having any for about 3 months. Finally the grass has turned another color than brown!
Hi Neighbor,
I was hoping to never get a "real" job again but I couldn't pass this one up so it looks like we are heading to Florida!
Florida!!! OMG!!! Ya'll are really being gad-abouts this year aren't ya?
Well, Snippy, I hope this is a true blessing for ya'll both and you have my prayers and best wishes as always.

Examine me, O Lord. Psalm 26:2
Given a choice, Id probably not voluntarily visit my doctor for a physical exam. Im inclined to assume that everything is okay and not bother my doctor about it. But since my wife is a nurse, I dont have a choice. I go in for regular exams.
And given a choice, many of us are a little afraid of spiritual checkups as well. After all, if we check our spirit too closely, we might have to change a habit or two. We might need something like an attitude-ectomy.
I suggest that we get over our reluctance. With Gods guidance, lets undergo a spiritual checkup, using Proverbs 4:20-27 as a checklist.
Ears (v.20): Are we hearing Gods Word clearly and with understanding? Are we doing what those words tell us?
Eyes (vv.21,25): Are we keeping our eyes on the teachings that will guide us toward righteousness?
Heart (v.23): Are we protecting our heart from evil?
Tongue (v.24): Is our mouth clean and pure?
Feet (v.26): Are we walking straight toward Gods truth without wavering?
How did you do on your examination? Are there areas where you need to take action? Regular checkups will help to restore your spiritual vitality.
