Since you've already raised the issue, I'll stick with number 1 for my nit-pick of the day.
"Eastport is the most eastern city in the United States. The city is considered the first place in the United States to receive the rays of the morning sun."
I guess it depends on what you mean by "United States". (Where is President Clinton when we need his help with words?).
According to the US Navy, the honor would seem to go to Wake Island, not Maine. See, generally, point 9 on this web page: http://aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/docs/first_sunrise.html; with the first populated point being in Guam.
And while I'm at it, let me take a cheap shot.
They double dip on the blueberries. Compare point 10 with point 45. (If they produce 99%, then it seems a given that they would have the largest crop). So let's give Maine credit for only 49 claims to fame, rather than the usual 50.
Are you as excited as I am about Arlen Specter's campaign to preserve my God-given right to have Osama bin Laden on my speed-dial without the NSA knowing about it?
I tried, but all I got was point "404". ;^)
I did get a chuckle out of #10 and #45 . . . yes, that is a classic double-dip. What were they thinking?!?!? That you weren't going to read the list? =)
I agree that Maine double dipped on the blueberry fame. :-)
