1. Eastport is the most eastern city in the United States. The city is considered the first place in the United States to receive the rays of the morning sun.

How can this be? It's always morning in America.

Since you've already raised the issue, I'll stick with number 1 for my nit-pick of the day.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "United States". (Where is President Clinton when we need his help with words?).

According to the US Navy, the honor would seem to go to Wake Island, not Maine. See, generally, point 9 on this web page: http://aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/docs/first_sunrise.html; with the first populated point being in Guam.

And while I'm at it, let me take a cheap shot.

They double dip on the blueberries. Compare point 10 with point 45. (If they produce 99%, then it seems a given that they would have the largest crop). So let's give Maine credit for only 49 claims to fame, rather than the usual 50.
