Our Mission: The FReeper Foxhole is dedicated to Veterans of our Nation's military forces and to others who are affected in their relationships with Veterans. In the FReeper Foxhole, Veterans or their family members should feel free to address their specific circumstances or whatever issues concern them in an atmosphere of peace, understanding, brotherhood and support. The FReeper Foxhole hopes to share with it's readers an open forum where we can learn about and discuss military history, military news and other topics of concern or interest to our readers be they Veteran's, Current Duty or anyone interested in what we have to offer. If the Foxhole makes someone appreciate, even a little, what others have sacrificed for us, then it has accomplished one of it's missions. We hope the Foxhole in some small way helps us to remember and honor those who came before us.

I was hoping to here more about Lambert's Cafe . . . so I took a moment to visit their web-page (Lambert's Cafe). What a great place to eat if one is ever in the local area.
Morning Feather . . . thank you for the poem. It kind of takes you away to a peaceful place.
I have a picture of my Aunt Lyd standing in one of these Sunflower fields.
And a s a resident of Kansas I would like to point out that St Fidelis Church aka "Cathedral of the Plains" in Victoria, Kansas was not on your list. The church is 220' long, 110' wide at the transcepts and 75' at the nave. Its ceiling is 44' above the ground and the towers rise 141'. The seating capacity of 1,100 made it, at the time of its dedication, the largest church west of the Mississippi.
A tip of the alfa6 lid to Donald Marks fro the pics.
Link to a history of the church here...(St . Fidelis)

Yes, he graduated from high school in Minneapolis, KS. He got his batchelors and masters at Iowa St, but he moved south as quickly as he could.

Jordan's Idea
Read:
|
One spring day, Jordan began asking questions about Jesus' resurrection as his mom was taking him to preschool. Realizing he thought Jesus was rising from the dead for the first time this Easter, she tried to correct him. She pulled the car over and told him all about Jesus' death and resurrection. She concluded, "Jesus rose from the dead a long time ago, and now He wants to live in our hearts." But Jordan still didn't understand.
Unsure how she could make it any clearer, she said, "How about if we stop by the bookstore? I saw some books about Easter when I was there last week. We'll get one and read through it together." With a wisdom beyond his years, Jordan responded, "Can't we just read the Bible?"
Jordan's idea was right. Commentaries and books about the Bible are helpful tools. But they should never be used as a substitute for God's revelation of HimselfHis Word. No other book has been given to us "by inspiration of God" (2 Timothy 3:16). As author Eugene Peterson says, "God's voice [is] speaking to us, inviting, promising, blessing, confronting, commanding, healing."
Let's follow Jordan's idea and go first to the ultimate source of truththe Bible. Anne Cetas
