Good morning Snippy, Sam and every one. Hope all survived the land fall of Rita.
BTW, the Nantahala or "Nanty" is one of the most beautiful rivers in North Carolina, and a favorite of whitewater kayakers . . . Nantahala in Cherokee means "land of the noon day sun" . . . the gorge is so deep that the river gets direct sunlight only at mid day. Since it is dam-fed, it is also VERY cold -- wet suits and a paddle jacket recommended!
This is "Patton's Run" right after the put in. Fast, pushy water that shows up quick!
Nantahala Falls, the biggest water on the regular trip.
