Lord,

Keep our Troops forever in Your care

Give them victory over the enemy...

Grant them a safe and swift return...

Bless those who mourn the lost.
.

FReepers from the Foxhole join in prayer
for all those serving their country at this time.

...................................................................................... ...........................................

U.S. Military History, Current Events and Veterans Issues

Where Duty, Honor and Country
are acknowledged, affirmed and commemorated.

Our Mission:

The FReeper Foxhole is dedicated to Veterans of our Nation's military forces and to others who are affected in their relationships with Veterans.

In the FReeper Foxhole, Veterans or their family members should feel free to address their specific circumstances or whatever issues concern them in an atmosphere of peace, understanding, brotherhood and support.

The FReeper Foxhole hopes to share with it's readers an open forum where we can learn about and discuss military history, military news and other topics of concern or interest to our readers be they Veteran's, Current Duty or anyone interested in what we have to offer.

If the Foxhole makes someone appreciate, even a little, what others have sacrificed for us, then it has accomplished one of it's missions.

We hope the Foxhole in some small way helps us to remember and honor those who came before us.

JOINT POW/MIA ACCOUNTING COMMAND (JPAC)

Until they are home...

Some of our readers may remember that we've done a couple threads on JPAC and the history of their merger with Mortuary Affairs.

Our very own Foxhole FReeper USMCBOMBGUY will be assigned to JPAC on his next mission and leaves for deployment in a couple of weeks.

We want to thank him for his work assisting the recovery efforts of troops.

We also want to wish him Godspeed and safety in his mission. We pray for success and hope that soon we will be able to Welcome Home another of our Vietnam MIA's.

Today's thread is a reminder for us to "Never Forget".

Briefly a reminder of what JPAC is:

Mission and History The Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC), located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, was activated on Oct. 1, 2003. JPAC’s mission is to achieve the fullest possible accounting of all Americans missing as a result of our nation’s previous conflicts. Our highest priority is the return of any living Americans that remain prisoners of war.

JPAC was created from the merger of the 30 year old U.S. Army Central Identification Laboratory, Hawaii, and the 11 year old Joint Task Force - Full Accounting. This 425-person organization, commanded by a flag officer, is committed and dedicated to bringing home the nation’s service members and civilians who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Today, there is one American missing from the Gulf War, more than 1,800 from the Vietnam War, 120 from the Cold War, more than 8,100 from the Korean War, and more than 78,000 from World War II.

The U.S. Government, the Department of Defense and the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command are committed to scientific excellence and the fullest possible accounting of all Americans still missing as a result of our nation’s conflicts.

Your proposing to the lovely and gracious soon to be Mrs PE reminded me of a joke.

Heard the one about the engineer who finally took a vacation only to be shipwrecked?

Regards

Yep, right here. I didn't remember the actual words being in, now long lost, FReepmail.

A snide comment from the audience.

My reply to the dwarf dude.

Msdrby' first reply.

I ask directly.

Her direct reply.

That was a good day. And one I will never forget. :-)

Personally, I am happy to see those people hounded to the ends of the earth and for the rest of their lives, if nothing else.

Amen Iris7. Amen.

Legal, smeegal. A license is just another tax. Besides, knowing bittygirl, she was probably just born ahead of "normal" timelines. She's already ahead of everyone else. :-)

Heh heh heh. That's the same feeling I've always had.
