1976 Russian pilot defects to Japan in a Mig 25 jet Victor Belenko. In the late 80's ,I was on weekend duty when word came of a VIP flying into the base, needing his T-38 refueled ASAP. I was waiting at the transient alert ramp when he came in. I was able to see him, but didn't get to meet him. ;-(
