I agree. That's why so many Americans were so deliriously happy on VJ Day. It was like a reprieve from the governor for an inmate scheduled for execution in an hour.

Uncle Howard would have been in the second wave; they expected 95% casualties. He's still alive, and still thinks Harry Truman was our greatest president!

Bummer about Will Rogers and Wiley Post, though. Wiley Post was a fascinating character, very complex. The Oklahoma Historical Society has a great collection on them.

Well one of the reports was with release candidates for SP2. There was one freeper who installed it with sucess, burned it to a CD and tried to install it on his daughter's laptop, only to end up with a blue screen.

It took awhile for him to get it all straightend out so it vaires.

I have yet to receive XP SP2. My computer has automatic updates turned on. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

When you type in Windows XP in the search engine, you'll find articles and observations on SP 2.

You might also go to Yahoo and type in "Windows XP Service Pack 2" to find out more.

Whatever happens, one thing's for sure your computer shouldn't have anymore problems with viruses or hackers or anything lese than it already has.

On October 9, 1945, a typhoon packing 140-mile per hour winds struck the American staging area on Okinawa . . . the storm would have caused up to a 45-day delay in the invasion of Kyushu. . . . the Honshu invasion . . . would have then been pushed back as far as mid-April 1946.

On 4 April 1946, another typhoon raged in the Pacific, this one striking the northernmost Philippine island of Luzon . . . if Japan had held out, this storm would have had profound effects on the world we live in today. US intelligence turned out to be dead wrong about the number of Japanese planes available to defend the Home Islands. . . . occupation authorities after the war found that the number of military aircraft actually available in the Home Islands was over 12,700.
