Please accept my condolences, Trteamer

Colonel Jack Large

460th BG was composed of four squadrons (760th, 761st, 762nd and 763rd) and was based at Spinazzola, Italy, as part of 55th Combat Wing, which was assigned to the 15th AF.

Here's a possible contact

460th Bomb Group - 15th AF

Any ideas which Squadron he was in?

YEP it was/IS!

fyi,i bought duckie home about 5pm , fed her a coke freeze (vanilla ice cream whipped with coca-cola) & promptly tucked her in bed with the TV remote.

she is in MUCH better shape & will LIKELY sleep all night, courtesy of the hospital's staff that kept waking her up about every HOUR.

all is as WELL as can be expected.

PRAYERS HELP-maybe more than "modern" medical care!

My sister sent me a tape of a lecture given a group of teachers by a New York cardiologist and author of a book Spirit and Healing (as I recall).

His experience as a young intern on a New Mexican reservation impressed him.

An old man revered as a "medicine man" was in his clinic, thought to be terminal, yet survived to attend the village festival.

As it was something of a miracle, the doctor thought it an indicator the man would continue to improve.

The doctor said goodnight and that he would see the man in the morning.

The man said no he would not and died.

He had stayed alive to attend the festival and could now go.

Thinking of your duckie and that knee--our cadet went through several knee operations--shoulder dislocation, cranial aneurism, many injuries in sports at the academy.

Finally medically retired--to have a family and raise the oldest son with congenital chromasome deficiency requiring 24/7 medical attention.

Very glad to read of your positive reports.

Prayer seen as a tool like the torch and Porta-Power the old front-end man used to remove the '57's kingpins the first time.

Patience for the fire and ergs to work.

We knew we could destroy their APC's, we just didn't know if he could do it fast enough to cope with those odds!

I'm glad we never had a chance to find out.

Didn't George McGovern fly with them? I know he flew B-24 Liberator out of Italy.

George McGovern was born in Avon, South Dakota, on July 19, 1922, the son of a Methodist clergyman. As a pilot of a B-24 bomber based in Italy at Cerignola during World War II, he flew 35 missions and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross.
