Many years ago, as a lad of 12, I had a paper route. Through subsciption sales, I won a trip to Seattle. The trip included a ferry ride to Bremerton and a tour of the USS MISSOURI (BB-63). I remember standing at the spot where the bronze plaque is installed on the deck. Awesome, memorable experience for me at that young age.
As events unfold a few years later, my ship was one of those present in Tokyo Bay for the surrender.

It sure is an awesome feeling standing on the spot the Surrender was signed and reading the plaque.
Snippy and CJ did a good job on the thread today. I wish I had the pictures I took of the MISSOURI in Astoria handy. :-(
