I don't believe our Founding Fathers envisioned the Country being run by career politicans.

I don't either. I think they'd be pleased that portions of their work have survived, but appalled at the bloated monster government has become.

They absolutely didn't plan it that way. They distrusted elitists rulers and envisioned citizen legislators. Work the farm, run the business, take care of the family, and take a little time to work with the legislature.

McGovern retired from the Senate and then went into business. I remember an interview in which he said, "If I had known then what I know now about business, I would've voted differently."

I could've just spit. Years later he admits that he didn't know what the heck he was doing. The whole Senate is a punch of pompous, elitist, lords who don't now jack about the real world, but think they know ever so much more than the peasants beneath them.
