Underway Replenishment Oilers - T-AO
Description: Fourteen underway replenishment oilers are operated by Military Sealift Command to provide underway replenishment of fuel to Navy combat ships and jet fuel for aircraft aboard aircraft carriers at sea. Three MSC oilers are equipped with reinforced double hulls.
Features: There are stations on both sides of each ship for underway replenishment of fuel and stores.

Combat Stores Ships - T-AFS
Description: Six combat stores ships are operated by Military Sealift Command to provide supplies to U.S. Navy ships at sea operating for extended periods of time.
Features: Combat stores ships provide underway replenishment of all types of supplies including fresh, frozen and chilled food; dry provisions; repair parts; clothing; and mail using tensioned cargo rigs and CH-46 Sea Knight (or commercial equivalent) helicopters.
Ammunition Ships - T-AE
Description: Six ammunition ships provide logistic support to U.S. Navy ships at sea.
Features: Ammunition ships operated by Military Sealift Command to provide underway replenishment of all types of ammunition via connected replenishment and vertical replenishment. Additionally, these ships frequently assist with the transfer of ammunition between weapons storage and maintenance facilities worldwide.
Hospital Ships - T-AH
Description: Two hospital ships operated by Military Sealift Command are designed to provide emergency, on-site care for U.S. combatant forces deployed in war or other operations.
Features: USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) and USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) each contain 12 fully-equipped operating rooms, a 1,000 bed hospital facility, digital radiological services, a medical laboratory, a pharmacy, an optometry lab, a CAT-scan and two oxygen producing plants. Each ship is equipped with a helicopter deck capable of landing large military helicopters. The ships also have side ports to take on patients at sea.
