The primary goal of the Republican Liberty Caucus is to help Liberty minded candidates -- those who will "support and defend the Constitution of the United States" -- get elected to office. Our secondary goal is to provide a viable organization that will help Liberty minded Republicans join together to succeed in our primary goal.
Texas, of course, has the RLC's first Chairman, Rep. Ron Paul, and other office holders. They already have a slate of candidates ready for this election cycle. Kentucky RLC helped six out of seven RLC candidates get elected in the last election cycle and is already working on a very impressive slate for this and the next cycle.

New forum dedicated to the Republican Liberty Caucus.
To: Jim Robinson
I just realized the name of this forum is Republican Liberty Caucus Liberty Caucus. Boo boo?
To: Sir Gawain; Reagan Man
Funny, R-man and I were just discussing this on another thread. - Dispite his name I did detect a certain lack of enthusiasm. It may be 'rino rejection'.
"Government is not the solution to our problems, Government is the problem".
"We have some of these "Republicans in Name Only" or "RINO's" who see nothing wrong in curtailing the very freedoms that make America great. Simply put, the Republican Liberty Caucus does not think that these individuals should be the standard bearers for the party of Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater."
--- And Ron Paul.

Thank you SOOO much for this new forum. I truly believe that the RLC is the future of the GOP.That's something we can agree on.

"I truly believe that the RLC is the future of the GOP."
That's something we can agree on.
We can agree, but it ain't gonna happen unless politicians will endorse the RLC's positions.

You considering joining the RLC, tpaine? Or are you, as indicated by your post, simply a moderate here to whine about their presence?

'Moderate' whiners ping.RLC or RINO?
Is there really such a critter
as a Republican in name only?
Republican isn't a philosophy,
it is drive to get and hold political
office. The phenomenon I see is that
they are deserting conservative
principles to get hold of the levers
of power and to keep that grip.
That is the nature of a politician,
ie, a democrat or a republican.
Our problem is that Republicans
today are conservative in
name only. CINOs. A real
Constitution lovin' citizen is
more likely to be libertarian
or conservative than today's
version of Republican.

Well, I believe one objective of the RLC is to recruit, train, support and elect Liberty-minded conservatives to office on the Republican Party ticket where there is party name recognition and numbers to actually get them elected.
To: Jim Robinson
I agree. My point is that CINO is a more apt description of those we hang the RINO label on. And that once we get that sorted out, libertarians and conservatives have more common ground than either of us do with the parties of big government. Republicans have a lot more to learn from libertarians than they think. And a move in that direction will pick up disenchanted conservatives.

The problem with that attitude is, it seems to take it for granted that politicians are a closed set. Find someone who agrees with the principles we support and get him to run. If you can't, you can run yourself. But, here's where "practical politics" comes in, start with the state legislature and other lower offices. That's where the big politicians get their start.

Thanks much Jim for giving the RLC an opportunity to spread its message to 'real Republicans' on FR.
