The problem with that attitude is, it seems to take it for granted that politicians are a closed set. Find someone who agrees with the principles we support and get him to run. If you can't, you can run yourself. But, here's where "practical politics" comes in, start with the state legislature and other lower offices. That's where the big politicians get their start.
