Housing and Urban Services Secretary Scott Turner said a majority of illegal alien families in the United States rely on taxpayer-funded welfare programs, costing tens of billions of dollars each year and placing significant strain on housing, healthcare, education, and public safety systems.
Turner said roughly 59 percent of illegal alien families use at least one welfare program, at an estimated annual cost of $42 billion.

Most illegals if they work, are cash on hand without paying taxes.
Many live crammed together in an apartment or house, so the property taxes for one home are covering say three families.
Many are ill, have children, and some are criminal.
This is a classic case where a small minority benefits (cheap labor), but society in the bigger picture is paying for it.
Few people are anti-immigrant. That's how the leftist and anti-Trump media wants to portray it. They distort the true issue in order to turn it into a political club, where they can yell racism and make some silly chant.
The real issue is "illegal" immigration. The inflow of people we don't know who they are, what they did, why they are running away in some cases. Who in their right mind wants a cartel member, rapist, murderer, violent robber, or pedophile as a neighbor?
The only racists are the race pandering jerks like AOC twisting this issue. Every nation has a right, and in fact its leaders a "duty" to ensure the safety and welfare of its citizens, which is not ensured through uncontrolled immigration. And if you're following these race panderers (unlikely to be on the FR), thinking open borders are needed not to be a racist, sorry to say it like this, you're an idiot.

Words fail me to express outrage at this.
I know several families that tried to immigrate to America legally. The hell they were put through, years of delays, legal expenses and fees. Having to prove that they would not be a welfare burden nor displace American workers.
But come here illegally….
It’s just obscene.
And the majority of them hate Americans.
Mean while the H-1B visa program has basically sentenced some 10 million American tech workers to poverty costing them some 1 trillion dollars over the last 10 years. The media will never point this out and the government is lying about the real numbers.

In addition to the direct welfare payments to illegals, we also need to add the millions/billions of grant money given to NGO’s who place the illegals in communities across the USA and help them obtain the aforementioned welfare grift.
Charity should begin at home first.

Take the amount of this welfare, say 40 billion, and take all, 100% of House and Senate salaries until either it is fully paid off or is reduced by 90%.
The idea that illegals pay taxes and net benefit society is simply not true.
Agree they could have the same SS number and nobody checks when looking for cheap labor.

The fault is with those who passed the enabling laws in the first place and fail to amend or repeal them, or to enforce violations of them.
