Amash is OK on some issues, but he is a Liberaltarian and as such has that baggage that will turn off half the conservatives without gaining a single RAT vote.
There is a reason that libertarians can't get elected to anything if they come out of the closet and admit it.

At this point I would take just about anyone to the right of Saul Anuzis. Amash wouldn’t be my first choice but if he won the nomination I would vote for him.

They say something that makes sense and then they get "thoughtful" about it and fall into a feedback loop of increasingly liberal thought.
