Just the thought of sitting atop of several million degrees of molten something or other caused me to start sweating like Dan Quayle at a spelling bee. While stumbling around in a diaphoresis stupor, I pondered: if the earth is millions and millions of degrees, how hot is the sun?

Oh wow. If this doesn’t stifle the “Global warming debate is a settled science” stuff, nothing will.
You are basing your scientific beliefs on a person who actually says the earth is hotter than LAVA???

Yo Jim, the ad hominem slap at Dan Quayle wasn’t necessary, that crap about his spelling was ginned up by the lamestream media and only leftists and their affiliated liberal scum keep hammering away at a good and decent American like Dan Quayle. Shame on you. Grow the eff up.

Just a simple transposition. Al Gore once again swapped the numbers for Earth’s climate with that of another celestial body, in this case, the Sun. No biggie. The Sun has a core temperature on the order of ten million degrees. The Earth has a core temperature on the order of several thousand degrees. Only off by FOUR ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE!!! ManBearPig!

Good enough for me, and thanks for the clarification Jim - when I see sneers about Dan Quayle, I see red because NObody will tell me that Dan Quayle would not have made a fine President and he definitely got a bum rap.

 Have a good weekend!

It’s even worse than that. The earth’s core is only about 4,000 degrees so he even exaggerated by using the term “several” instead of “a few”.
Then he went on to say that it was enough heat to supply energy for 35,000 years! Just 35,000? What a maroon!
