The Economist has a thoughtful interview with Reihan. His thoughts on Paul:
My suspicion is that non-interventionism is going to enjoy a rebirth among conservatives. As memories of 9/11 fade and casualties continue to mount, a desire for an independent foreign policy with an inward focusI won't call it isolationismwill reassert itself. Though I'm a firm believer in a more forward-leaning foreign policy (my instincts are more McCain than Paul), this is a good and healthy debate to have. So in that sense, Mr Paul is good for the party. I worry, however, that the Paul movement represents a turn from political realism.

Good for nothing.
A lot better then McCain and Graham-nesty.
He should be lanced and removed before infection sets in.
Yes - if nothing else, he focused on individual liberty and the Constitution...something the rest of the GOP has forgotten. Just look at following too - Ron Paul’s ideas excited people; made people passionate about our constitution...the last time that happened was under Reagan. I don’t hold with his foreign policy, but he stimulates thought and interest, and that alone makes him a positive, and I say, welcome member of the GOP.
LOL!
Ditto that one!
I rather Ron Paul than Mcain
The question should not be is [Ron Paul or anyone] good for the GOP, but is [Ron Paul or anyone] good for the people, for the country.
Is the GOP good for the GOP?
The GOP.? What the hell Happened to the GOP.???
The Grand Old Party.!! Yeah Right.
I like Ron Paul on a lot of issues, he’s pro-life, pro-gun, for small government, is sponsoring audit the fed bill, is for a strong dollar, against the United Nations, World Trade Organization, and International treaties that take away our sovereignty.
I would take him as President right now above Obama, McCain, or even President Bush. I don’t agree with Ron on some of his foreign policy but he has a consistant philosophy of non intervention no matter which party is in power.
How... gay.
We need Ron Paul like the Dems need Kucinich. The rest of the respective party wants to look `normal` in comparison.
You hit it and in they are the favs of Jack Hunter.
Wonder who will lead the Pride Prade next year.
If the Ron Paul-ites would have prevailed in the 1940’s, we would have had to fight whoever won between Hitler and Stalin on our doorsteps - rather than over there. Not to mention Japan.
Those who fail to learn from history are destined to repeat it. I guess history means nothing to the Ron Paul-ites.
Ping
Ron Paul is good for Ron Paul... and Ross Perot his butt father.
I agree with him more than the party
