If our nation would revert to gold, silver, or some other valuable commodity as money, there would be no need for management. This is true, but there simply isn't enough gold to back our currency. Perhaps a basket of commodities could be used, but I would envision many problems with this. It would be good to see a move away from fiat currency, if someone can come up with a reasonable way to do it.
