The Alabama Republican Assembly (ALRA) has announced its endorsement of Texas Republican Congressman Ron Paul for President.
The ALRA is an affiliate of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA), known as the Republican Wing of the Republican Party. Ronald Reagan once referred to the NFRA as "the conscience of the Republican Party."
"We congratulate Ron Paul on winning the ALRA endorsement," said Elaine Little, Chairman of the Alabama Republican Assembly's endorsing convention. "It's evident that the overwhelming majority of delegates determined that Congressman Paul best represents the Republican platform and the conservative values of limited government and personal freedom."
"Ron Paul has clearly excited many new people and energized them to get involved in the political process. The Republican Party should be grateful for all the 'new blood' coming in as a result of Congressman Paul's message of freedom and returning to the Constitution," said Tom Davis, Vice President of the ALRA and delegate to the endorsing convention.
The NFRA was founded in 1997 to promote conservative values and principles in the Republican Party.
The ALRA hosted a corresponding straw poll that was open to the public while the endorsing convention was taking place. The winner of the straw poll, with 81 percent of total votes cast, was Ron Paul, with Mike Huckabee coming in second with 13 percent and Mitt Romney in third with 6 percent.
Congressman Paul has won more straw polls than any other candidate. For a running total of Dr. Paul's straw poll results visit: www.ronpaul2008.com/straw-poll-results/.
Note: Even Ron Paul voted for kicking the hell out of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Does that sound as "isolationist" as you are trying to portray it? Or is it just a Constitutional stance saying that if you get an outright Declaration out of Congress that you may then unleash our Dogs of War?
You seemed to be confused over the difference. This is a personal issue you should work on.
Your insane lunatic McCain wants to stay and fight for another 100 years. Where is he going to get the money and manpower? McCain is a joke.
Good pick-up for Dr. Paul!
You may believe what ever you wish even when you are wrong.
Thanks for playing but you lose.
What exactly is it that you think you have won? You certainly haven't proven a point, provided any cogent facts to support your Globo-Cop assertions, or really done much other than type random words into a text box.
Bravo! I'm sure that will play well to the Gallery...
You prove my point, thanks for playing.
This endorsement is the turning point...even if it didn’t happen.
There’s no stopping LRon now!
I’ve gone back over your posts on this thread and came to the same conclusion. You don’t HAVE a point to begin with other than “Ron Paul sucks” for a reason you can’t even fully articulate much less defend.
For whatever reason you do believe these are not "points", and dead thats ok, I have said that many RP supporters repeat what they think has said and what others have said what he has said and not what he has actually said........
I've actually gone back over and read transcripts, looked at voting records, and done my own research. Part of his lack of support for the Iraq war was why I was a Hunter and a Thompson supporter at first. With them out, I've only got the Crazy Uncle to support now.
Of those remaining, Ron Paul is the ONLY one left for those who still think "conservative" also means "smaller, more Constitutional government". If not, you are only supporting the new RINO/Bigger Government and are operating on "party over principle" to the detriment of both...
It is the above quotes about anyone who does not support RP that are the most disingenuous.
Like I said before, thanks for playing but you lose.
Not at all. Rudy McHuckaromney are the very personification, by any reasonable standard, of the malaise infesting the GOP. They are the reason the Reagan Coalition died.
Because of this, we are ALL losing. Don't play the "my team right or wrong" game. This is bigger and more important than mere ego stroking.
“Ron Paul has clearly excited many new people and energized them to get involved in the political process.”
I don’t know about politics, but I’m sure he’s definitely energized most half-wits to buy hooked-on-phonics
