KENNER, La. Ron Paul, a Republican presidential contender and Texas congressman, said Monday that the Federal Reserve is to blame for the countrys weakening economy.
Paul highlighted his economic remedies abolishing the federal income tax and returning to the gold standard, among them on a three-city tour of Louisiana.
The libertarian-minded Paul was the only candidate to visit Louisiana on the eve of the states Republican caucuses Tuesday. The caucuses are an intermediary step in picking a favorite candidate. A presidential primary will take place on Feb. 9 and a state convention will convene on Feb. 16.
Paul blamed the Federal Reserve for the current economic conditions; stock markets worldwide fell Monday after Wall Street declined last week. On his Web site, he said the Fed has taken the United States into a terrible crisis. Paul told an overflow crowd at a suburban New Orleans hotel Monday that the Fed has allowed the dollar to weaken, which in turn, he said, has hurt the middle class and led to inflation.
I would enjoy being the next president to get rid of our central bank, he told supporters. The crowd gave him a raucous welcome, chanting at one point, Who dat? Who dat say theyre gonna beat Ron Paul? a riff on a popular football chant for the New Orleans Saints.

The real source of the panic is that the rest of the world actually knows the USA economy drives the world economy and is worried by talk like this from Paul and the MSM. The .75 drop in the ‘?’ rate might be seen as a sign of weakness in the Fed, but also is entirely inside the power range. Not a big deal.
“I think that it would be very easy to rid ourselves of the “FED”,or.the more formal and authentic sounding,Federal Reserve Bank”
You never took any classes on business, accounting, finance, micro- or macro-economics at all in college, did you?
Quite a few,in the master’s program,less as an undergrad.
So what was wrong with her post?
Or does ad hominem suffice for argumentation these days on FR?
“I need more than what’s been provided so far . . . which is zero.”
False, and silly to deny that I gave you a link with multiple source documents. But that’s what I expect from the loony fringe of Ron Paulsters.
Simply put, you supporters of Doktor Herr Ron Paul, Esquire are being played by the left (Wonkette, Daily KOS) who last year publically decided to push Ron Paul as a spoiler. (Source: Daily KOS, Wonkette forum comments throughout 2007 - search for yourself, I’m not doing your own footwork)
Plus, you supporters tend to shout silliness when confronted with facts and deny you ever saw them. (source: your post)
Here’s where you can start, copy this address and paste it in your browser. That’s the thing you’re staring at right now. Browser. Hit Enter, it is a key on the flat thing your knuckles are resting against.
You will then magically appear to stare at text. This is the source. Try reading it without screaming RON PAUL IS GOD and you’ll be able to figure out what is written.

Note that your fuehrer tried to distance himself by denying that his newsletter was in any way connected with his ideas (link on the source), even though he
1. Takes and keeps money from Neo Nazis (proven multiple times)
2. Gleefully approves appearances on Neo Nazi media and Truther 911 sedition media for interviews (again, proven multiple times)
3. Pretends that for over 10 years the crap spewed under his bannered name was a complete surprise to him, gosh.
He’s lying. There’s more proof condemning him than there is clearing him. He’s stupid, he has no concept of finance, money, banking, accounting, economics, electronic funds transfers, or especially the time concept of money. He’s a modern version of the Know-Nothings crossed with a determined Luddite streak a mile wide.
With a Prussian Blue-admiring neo-nazi cherry on top.
And that’s my last post on the subject. I don’t bother debating with socialists, nor with monarchists, tribalists, anarchists, communists, nazis or the pathetic crazies spouting conspiracy theories and pontificating about the Federal Reserve (a sure sign of dementia and/or stupidity).
None of those types of political “philosophies” are worth any rational person’s time. I don’t talk to people who are convinced that diet cola is made by outer space aliens either.
“Quite a few,in the masters program, less as an undergrad.”
Sorry, I can’t believe you. It’s like someone who says they took basic algebra asserting that X+390-Y = 49, when Y is 0, then X is Chocolate Cream Pie.
And here’s the proof of his denial being a convenient lie. The screenshots are of his campaign forum, written by supporters.

Proof: Articles are under his byline, in first person, and signed, no distancing, etc. Read.
And now I will bow out as I promised.
You are not comprehending my posts.
I’m asking for proof that Paul had any kind of executive or editorial power with the newsletters that bore his name.
I didn’t ask about what quotes were in them so I don’t need them posted to me for the umpteenth time.
Please stick with the subject at hand and try to show me proof that Paul had executive or editorial control over the newsletters carrying his name.
Just the fact that the newsletters carried his name means nothing. We have an arena in town called the Amway Arena. Just because the Amway name is over the arena doesn’t mean that Amway controls who is booked to play there or what they say while they are there.
How could there be any lassiez-faire economy? The people have been well trained to never accept less government as a solution. The size of government can only ratchet upward.
Despite your lengthy diatribes, the only answer you have to Ron Paul is:
“pick one: Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee”
Scratch Fred Thompson.
I’d be on the look out for Ron Paul endorsed candidates for congress. Now that the frame work for fund raising and connecting volunteers and supporters is in place, I’d look for more pro-constitution candidates.
My comment was based on the fact that if one,or a group wishes to change the culture,he or they need to change the meaning of words. Way back when the Federal Reserve was designed, words were used that led and still lead many people to believe that it was a legitimate government department,it wasn't,or did you not know that?
I was merely stating that a name change that more accurately reflected the ownership and operation of the entity at issue might serve this country well.
Liberty BUMP! Blackbird.
He’s got the texts written by Walter E. Williams and Milton Friedman. What do YOU read? John Maynard Keynes?
If so, did you see the snow?
If so, did you see the snow?
Yes and yes. I posted a couple of pics I took of it snowing the day it happened. It was a trip!
