By now, readers will know who I favor in the Democratic race. Here's my most considered case. But what of the GOP? For me, it comes down to two men, Ron Paul and John McCain. That may sound strange, because in many ways they are polar opposites: the champion of the surge and the non-interventionist against the Iraq war; the occasional meddling boss of Washington and the live-and-let-live libertarian from Texas. But picking a candidate is always a mix of policy and character, of pragmatism and principle. And what these two mavericks share, to my mind, is a modicum of integrity.

I will post a question, even though you're gone, so passing observors can get a clue if they need one. You've supposedly been fighting people who want to chop your head off on live TV for Allah for years now, so what do you think of the following exchange?

You are eager to serve under a C-in-C who lives in a dream world where bathing stockbrokers in jet fuel is not driven by fanaticism? I don't buy it.

Sorry for the late reply. Your ping was buried in a bunch of FDT pings. I guess I must be using Oldspeak (Ministry of Obfuscation). MinSilEx is probably the Newspeak today (although I doubt it would make sense in Paul's case if the 'il' were removed.
