Ron Paul Revolution: Sabrin considering U.S. Senate seat

Ramapo business professor Dr. Murray Sabrin is considering a run for U.S. Senate in New Jersey. Sabrin may be what many consider the vanguard of the Ron Paul Freedom Revolution. A big Paul supporter, Sabrin ran for governor in 1997 and again for Senate in 2000.

Since the changes in the political climate over the last several years and the success of Ron Paul’s campaign Sabrin may quickly become a force in the NJ Senate race should he get in.

Sabrin warned the audience during a GOP candidate forum in April of 2000 sponsored by the Gannett newspapers, "The threat to America is not incoming missiles but terrorists with suitcases”. Sabrin like Paul believes that border security is essential to national security.

Sabrin’s advocacy for Civil Liberty’s prompted Judge Andrew Napolitano to inscribe in a personal copy of his book, A Nation of Sheep, "For Murray Sabrin, who is the gold standard when it comes to the defense of human freedom.”

Sabrin issued this statement giving the reasons why he is considering running for US Senate:

"We are overtaxed, the policies of our bi-partisan political elite have weakened the security of our borders; our civil liberties are under attack, and future generations are facing an unprecedented liability of $60 trillion to maintain the welfare state.

"New Jersey’s families, businesses and individuals are overtaxed, overregulated and overburdened. The hard working people of New Jersey need immediate tax relief. Plus, the dollar’s purchasing power is declining greater than the federal government’s statistics reveal thus threatening the average American’s standard of living.

"Peace must be our destiny otherwise we will have perpetual war which will drain our income and wealth. The vast majority of New Jerseyans want our military to focus on defending the borders of the United States, not those of Iraq. That is why I opposed the invasion before it began based upon the advice of our Founding Fathers, urging us not to entangle ourselves in the affairs of foreign nations.

"In short, we need to restore freedom, because the free enterprise system works, it has created the most wealth in the shortest amount of time in history and has improved the standard of living of average citizens beyond their wildest dreams. We must put an end to the welfare-warfare state

"We need voices in the US Senate that believe liberty is our God-given right and will stop it from being undermined by an intrusive federal government."

Murray and Florence Sabrin are making a gift to Ramapo College of New Jersey to establish the Sabrin Center for Business Excellence in the Anisfield School of Business.

Sabrin will likely make his decision in January.

NJ may be ripe for a libertarian Republican. Seems like the standard issue Republican can get elected there. But a Sabrin or a Napolitano...hmmmm...

Looks like there may be more news in the next few days. If there is a time to push candidates forward to run on the RP agenda, then clearly that time has come.

This is the big weekend - - the “Tea Party” to raise even more money for Dr Ron Paul. Last time there was a fundraiser, $4.2 million came flowing in in a day. Let’s see what happens this time!
