I do not believe his assertion or the assertion of his supporters that he gets more military donations than any other candidate. It just does not pass the smell test.
Once more, these are donations self-identified as military
employees. This would include civilians who work for the DoD.
Here at FR, we've been very clear about this, very consistent through all the threads.
You might review
Military and Veterans for Ron Paul 2008 for more info. There's a nice video there of an old vet who says Ron Paul saved his life. Also, note that Ron Paul has been endorsed and funded by the VFW PAC throughout his career. I'm not sure if the American Legion has ever endorsed him.

Great RP saved a mans life. It is a fantastic thing he did but that does mean he is qualified to be president.
To quote RR, that RP was strong on defense is interesting. RP may have been strong then but he is not now.
On FR the implication is military personal support RP not just employees of the military.
RP is not strong on defense now. He is supporting policies that say roll up the carpet, lock the doors and pretend we do not have enemies.

I suspect it is because of his strict and tradtional view of the constitution, which they have sworn to uphold and Paul's views on freedom, liberty, and limited government. IMO That and they have to live under the "rules of engagement."

I don't think one can say necessarily jump to the conclusion that they are donating to paul because they are 'against the war'; I suspect it is because of his strict and tradtional view of the constitution, which they have sworn to uphold and Paul's views on freedom, liberty, and limited government. IMOThen why would Obama be 2nd in military contributions?
Don't delude yourself. These guys (and gals) over in Iraq want to come home and they're going to support the candidate that will bring them home.
