In Kelo v. New London, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that local governments have the power to seize private property for private redevelopment. What legal protections do Floridians have, if any, to protect us from such takings? What changes need to be made to state or local law in the wake of Kelo? What can Floridians do to see these changes are enacted?
Hear Robert McClure, president and CEO of the James Madison Institute in Tallahassee answer these questions and more in his address to the Tampa Town Hall Meetup, Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Lone Star Steakhouse, 11911 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa. The event is co-sponsored by the RLC of Florida.
