Being "out of the loop" is where I'd rather be if being in the loop means reading something I could care less about.
Conspiracy theorists don't "look better" educated to me, nor to most other educated people. They look nutty.
It's no big deal to disagree on such a controversy. It's merely a suggestion to "get" the Catholic position on such matters.
