(and for that matter, the television station is not "very sick" as you state at the beginning of this post for doing so). You call it "very sick" because it does not fit into your realm of thinking. Do you happen to work for this station? Cause you sure sound like you're trying to apologize for it.
I feel sorry for you if this disgusting "fun" little poll sits nicely into your realm of thinking.

First off, I hope that all of you who have participated in stuffing the results of this poll take the time to print out a copy of it from the television station's website. You now have the little red "NO" line longer than the little blue "YES" line. Print it out on a nice laserjet printer (preferably on some nice heavy stock certificate paper), take it to a custom picture framer, get a nice matting job done (maybe in red and blue to make the columns of the poll really stand out well), pick out an expensive garish frame (so whenever you look at it, you will know that you did well in your efforts), and then put it up in a prominent place so that everyone who enters your house or place of business will know that you fought the good fight for Terri and all of your efforts boiled down to altering the length of a little red line in a lame poll. With regard to my comment on the station not being "very sick" in posting this poll, I merely am stating that it is trying to offer a sounding board to members of the public as to what they think of the issue of Terri's plight. You call the station "very sick" for posting this poll. Would you consider CNN, BBC news, Fox Television, or maybe some religious organization "very sick" for posting this poll? Probably. The issue is not the poll itself. It has NO significance whatsoever. You are merely attatching a larger meaning to it than it can ever possibly convey. The poll has no margin of error, is not scientific, is open to ambiguity in its wording by not conveying whether the person voting is voting in favor of Terri dying or is in favor of her living. It merely presents a question of "Should Terri's feeding tube be removed?" That is it. It didn't state, "Should Terri's feeding tube be removed if the possibility of her survival is guaranteed?" or "Should Terri's feeding tube be removed so that she can die via her husband's warped control over her custody of care?" Desperate people who feel bound by their inability to make an impact (as in the case of Terri) resort to desperate measures to feel as though they are contributing or making a difference ... that is what is being shown in the seeding of this poll. Furthermore Katnip, the poll is not a "fun" little poll for me. Neither do I work for the television station. I am merely stating that I do not like to see hypocrisy in any form ... be it by Michael Schiavo's sinister ulterior motives of his wife's plight, or by a bunch of people obsessively stuffing the results of an online poll. Furthermore, in a previous post on this thread, MarMema stated that she is voting en masse for those who are unable to vote. Does she sit down to a buffet at the local cafe and eat numerous plates of food in order to compensate for the people who go hungry in the world? Maybe if she has one more serving of whatever is on the menu, then possibly the homeless guy living behind a dumpster will feel it in his belly tonight and sleep soundly (he may even burp). Maybe eating that extra slice of cheesecake will help that kid living in a hillbilly trailer in rural West Virginia feel good when his parents are unable to put food on the table. That is EXACTLY what is going on here with regard to the obsessive, almost manical, stuffing of the online poll as fostered by MarMema. I know that my comments sound cold and indifferent, but folks, you need to get a grip here. Do something positive on this issue. This online poll will be taken down eventually by the station after it has run its course and be replaced by another one and this one will fade into obscurity. Terri's plight is in God's hands and that of Judge Greer right now. Let's just pray that purer hearts and intents will prevail, and that God's Will shall be done.
With no regrets and no apologies, I bid you PEACE.
