If you think Catholics have more in common with the Calvinists than with the Orthodox you are absolutely insane.

(They say anti-Catholicism is the thinking man's anti-Semitism; that's an insult to thinking men)

If you think Catholics have more in common with the Calvinists than with the Orthodox you are absolutely insane. Well then I guess the great majority of Orthodox Christians are also insane, as it is a commonly and widely-held belief in my church. That would mean, then, that your pope is seeking to be part of an insane asylum, I suppose, when he seeks us out and speaks of unity with us. Hope that makes you feel comforted.

I think you would do well to read very carefully the arguments (both historical and doctrinal) put forth by the late Fr. John Romanides (
Memory eternal! Memory eternal! Memory eternal!) before dismissing the view generally held among the Orthodox that all the variants of Latin Christianity (whether papal or protestant) have more in common with each other than with Holy Orthodoxy.
His writings are easy to find: www.romanity.org.
Khomiavov, the great slavophile lay theologian said the protestantism and papism were two sides of the same coin.
