Such a film, with its highly selective dramatizations of abuse, feeds blind prejudices in a way that would not go unchallenged in depictions of other religions and social organizations. It's an unbalanced hate film, written and directed by Peter Mullan, who has said in interviews he was raised Catholic and defines himself now as a Socialist.
