Thank you for that information.  St. Maximilian Kolbe's life is worth knowing!

Is there a book about Saints (of an overview type, or Saints-for-Dummies for starters) that you'd recommend?  History and non-fiction are my reading pleasure, and I would be interested in knowing more about, and learning from, truly great people.

Butler's Lives of the Saints would be a good start. There are many editions out there.
