Ask Corin for his list after he gets done with it so you know who to invite. Y'all don't want me doin' the list. I'm a Wesleyan.
I'd invite everybody.

I wonder how long a marriage would last if a husband and wife never spoke to each other and only met at the dinner table. Seventeen years, so far ;-)

Seventeen years, so far ;-) Honey? Is that you?

I view "fallen" and "depraved" as absolutes. "Total" is implied by definition. Kinda like "pregnant."
A woman is either pregnant, or not.
A human being is either fallen, depraved and incapable of saving himself, or he's not. In which case, he's God, which he's definitely not.

Just responding to your point with a counterpoint. I never accused you of being anything.

I'm willing to hold the "First Annual Free Republic Religon Forum Barbeque" at my house. Heretics welcomed and encouraged to attend! Who, err I mean what will be the main course.

It almost sounds as if the Lord introducing we Calvinists as a kind of anti-virus to help stamp out the horrible liberalism within the Methodist church
If calvinists aid in being part of that solution, then I'm in favor of acceptance of those calvinists.
Methodism also includes a doctrine of a 2nd work.....holiness. I've never really inquired where Whitfield stood on that, simply assuming he supported it.

I've asked my Catholic family where their Bible is and they don't know.I've had protestants tell me adultery only relates to marriage. Codie there is a famine for the hearing of the word of God . I have made it my personal goal to post lots of scripture so at least people are reading it here.
I believe that hearing the word of God is what brings a man to faith .
To: CCWoody
Because an arminian ALSO believes God's foreknowledge informs God as to who will choose Christ. For there to be no necessary choice would create an odd sequence....first the full ownership of the purchased object, and then payment for the desired object. Sequentially, it seems one would pay and then one would possess.

Nope. Only a chosen few.

Read the article. I must have missed the part where Johnson associates the CRC with hyper-Calvinism. Can you point this out?

You know you're playing a real good game of "I know you are, but what am I?" But it's getting tiresome.
To: Corin Stormhands
Learned a lot of it from you.

I think you missed in that that I don't consider all Arminians to be believers. If I allow that for myself, then I would certainly allow it for you also, to believe that some Arminians are believers...a logical set one would confront with the statement: not all arminians are believers.
So, is arminianism heresy? It is trinitarian; it preserves the omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence of God; it believes in the literal truth of the Bible; it believes in the death, burial, resurrection, and return of Christ; it believes in holiness in character and life of the Christian. (I could go on.)
Were I you, I would put it in the class that Jesus permitted: Those who do miracles in His name cannot speak lightly of Him. Those not against Him are on His side.
