Even if reports exagerate historical fact, they may still reflect a pertinent issue above and beyond the details.

In this case, the association of Calvin with over 50 executions and that of Servetus where writings were strapped to the body augmenting his suffering before physical death without equal pomp leaves me no doubt that those conducting the actions were not holy.

Perhaps both parties were guilty, but by no means do I find this behavior to glorify God or place Calvin beyond reproach.

IMHO, it's even shoddier scholarship to hold a position that only Calvinists are Christian.
