*****Besides, looking at the younger generation who have been misled by American culture, not only could they learn some moral guidelines, but they could use to eat a few salads of their own.******

Many times I have noticed mothers who will treat the slightest virus, cold or laceration with fervent care and attention. Yet they allow spiritual germs to enter the home through television, magazines, bad companions etc. These spiritual germs are given scant attention, but they TAKE ROOT in the child's soul. In the early years the effects are hardly noticeable, but in teen years the immoral germs break out into hostility, disobedience, immodesty and irreligion. Then they wonder what happened to that innocent child of theirs, but by this time it is too late.

How very true. I think the point of this article, and the point of your post, is that just going along with popular culture is not going to work with your children. You need to take a position radically contrary to popular culture and all that it entails. This includes the media, dress, education, etc.
