I would check out St. Ignatius book on the subject, The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. Ignatius press carries a highly recommended book on how to conduct ann Ignatian retreat yourself called Do It at Home Retreat (The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola by Fr. Andre Ravier, S.J.. And it's recommended by Fr. Fessio, among others.

Got and read The Exercises but not the guide although I did know of its existence. I have a difficult time seeing how to do this without some guidance. Was this your approach or have you attended a retreat? If you used the guide I'd be quite interested in your experience with that.
