The Anglican Use liturgy
As for the rubrics of the Anglican Use liturgy, they are based off the Anglican High Church, and this is in turn based of the Tridentine Mass. "Ad Orientum", kneeling for communion and "high church" hymns. Also only Eucharistic Prayer I is used as well. Many of the disputes over the Novus Ordo are done because of rubics and a poor translation, I wonder how many disputes there would have been if the Novus Ordo in English was like the Anglican Use missal in terms of translation and Rubrics?
This morning at Mass our priest announced he would be going to Honduras for a month. It will be a working retreat for him. He will be helping to pour cement slabs in prepration for a mission later this year. He asked us to pray for him. I ask you, and others, to pray for our Parish.
After Mass, I gave him a good-bye embrace and said, "When you get back we will apply for an Indult and I will serve for you."
He respondly positively so all this time I have spent cultivating his friendship and speaking about the 1962 Roman Missal and the Roman Canon is, perhaps, bearing fruit. We shall see.
. In any event, as good as an Anglican Use Missal sounds, I still prefer the 1962 Roman Missal. However, if it were a choice twixt the N.O. and Anglican Use there is no contest.
I went to early Mass today and, thankfully, there was no choir so I didn't have to hear "We gather together" which was posted on the Hymnal Sandwich board.
