OCP has a periodical that is a companion to their missalettes and music issues with programming suggestions. A lot of music directors just program according to what's in it (the script) without giving it a second thought. Used to drive me insane before I quit cantoring.

Yup. Among other things, that reduces the element of "work" in the job of Music Director (used to be called organist, but had to have a professional title, more $$$.)
