Prayer Request for Aggie Mama (Vanity)
Aggie Mama
Posted on 06/16/2003 7:55:15 PM PDT by Aggie Mama
Well, Nine months of pregnancy have passed, and this Wednesday at 7am DH & I get to meet the newest little Freeper and Aggie. I'm nervous and scared since this one will be by c-section. My doctor is wonderful and I've had 2 previous sections by him as well, but it's still scary to go in for the surgery, not to mention recovery is pretty painful for the first few days.
It would mean the world to me to have you all keep me, the baby and my family in your prayers.

They'll have me pretty drugged for the first day via IV. After that I go to vicoden, which is fine for the baby.

You are so right about that. After DD was born (she's #2), I did waaaaaaaaayyyy too much and ended up getting a very bad infection that had me terribly sick. I've learned my lesson, so this time around we bought a deep freeze and I've been slowly filling it so I won't have to cook for the first few weeks. Now the laundry is a different story.....Although DH says he's up to the task. =)

I will pray.

After my hysterectomy I took Vicaden so word of caution. Do not go shopping internet or otherwise while taking Vicodan
However my son loved the $75 limited edition Coca Cola /Betty boop cookie jar I purchased for his collection.

The laundry is a problem as it is sooo annoying to see more than two loads pile up.
Another tip is paper plates/forks ect.. and foil trays for cooking.
What time do you go in tommarrow?
We will make it a point to send prayers up for you, baby and the rest of the clan.
I totally agree the moment before going nite nite is that moment you will naturally turn it over to God yet the human nature is fear. Yet before you know it you will be having that one old school nurse waking you up and barking for you to get up on your feet and encouraging you to clear your lungs.
Eat something terrific today and go NPO as early as 8pm to make sure you do not feel sick after. Just another tip.
You will have plenty of FR support from us ladies who have been there afterwards.
Congadulations ahead of time on your new little miracle.

LOL. Luckily, I can't drive for the first 2 weeks, so our bank accounts are safe. =)

Surgery starts around 7 - 7:30 am. I'll be awake during the entire procedure and I do fine until after DH takes the baby to the nursery. It's awful being left alone with your abdomen sliced open. Last time I had the most wonderful anesthesiologist that talked me through the whole thing. I pray I get the same one or someone as nice.
To: Aggie Mama
Yikes! No wonder you are dreading it.
I had an emerg c section 24yrs ago and I Prayed to God and as I saw the surgeon reach in to my son I simply passed out.
Now I understand more than ever what you will be going through in the morning. Mega prayers for courage and strength.

Thanks so much. I've been an emotional wreck today, but I've had to do it selectively so the kids don't see me upset.

It's ok Aggie Mama. Those hormones can be tricksters. You have a restful night and we will pray while you rest.
I finish shift one about the time you have your procedure done and we all here at FR will be lifting you and yours up in prayer with all are hearts. Be well. OP

UPDATE
Good morning everyone and thank you so much for the prayers. I have to tell you all that your prayers kept me strong during the c-section.
We got home last night. My doctor wanted me to spend an extra day in the hospital to rest, but of course no rest is possible in a hospital. Just when I would fall asleep, a nurse woould come in to poke and prod me.
Zachary Jackson (I'm leaving out our last name for obvious reasons) was born on Wednesday at 8:08 am and weighed in at 9 lbs 4.5 ozs. He looks just like his brother and his sister did when they were born, which is absolutely beautiful. The surgery was scary, but the staff at the hospital was spectacular and really helped me through it and through recovery.
We are home now and doing well. I haven't had sleep in about 4 days due to all the activity in the hospital and my inability to settle down last night. Zachary, on the other hand has been doing great, and is waking about every 3 hrs at night to nurse.
DH is going to drop off the pictures today to put on disk, so once that is done, I will have pictures for you. DH has also been wonderful--making sure I'm resting, not doing too much, and taking the initiative on the laundry!
The kids are adjusting well and love their baby brother. The two yr old is a bit jealous of the baby's time, but more than anything, she just wants to hold him. My 6 yr old is absolutely enamoured with his brother and likes to hold him and help comfort him when he cries.
I couldn't ask for anything more -- except for some badly needed sleep! If you could keep me in your prayers for some good sleep--I'm about ready to drop. Sleep deprivation is not one of the best parts of motherhood, that's for sure.
Thanks again for all your prayers. When the surgery was beginning, I kept repeating to myself, "I'm going to be okay, I have a bunch of Freepers praying for me." =)
Pictures forthcoming as soon as we get them back.

Fantastic news. Proud of you Aggie Mama. What a wonderful celebration your family is having.
Tell DH this freeper says "Good Man" and congrats to Dad too.
Well I didn't get KingVanity home from out dancing and watching Beatlemania untill 1am and by the time Igot him down and settled for the night, did a load of laundry, started posting around FR the sun was coming up (awesome reflection off of the clouds over the Pacific Ocean/Bay)I figured might as well stay up for shift one of the day to restart feeding pump/change briefs ect. so I am in the same need of sleep as you are feeling (didn't help munching on espresso/dark chocolates around 5am).
Well here is to some mucho grande rest hopefully in sync with the baby.
Congats again. Can't wait to see the pics. Nite Nite (for real this time)as I have to get up at noon for shift two as you do.
