liberal Catholic and Jesuit colleges and universities in the U.S. pose a greater menace in terms of distorting and contradicting "the Word of God."

Watched a nice young lady NROTC cadet from Marquette U tell us on TV news last night that "we are absolutely equal" to men--and then her NROTC commander(ette) stated that 'there should be no "off-limits" assignments' for women in the military.

Jesuit-educated girl still doesn't understand feminism, or the natural law.

That's just ONE example.

Indeed.

It's a problem when you have institutions advertizing themselves as "Catholic" producing liberal, socialist, progressive, or heretical chatter. To the extent that bishops have allowed the situation to continue - to allow educational institutions to call themselves "Catholic" quite falsely while spreading confusion and error - they perpetuate the crisis that pushes some into schismatic positions. That doesn't justify the more extreme reactions, but it does leave some feeling like they have nowhere to turn. The current carnival of scandals doesn't help the situation either. It's ironic that clergymen who molested minors or the new vandalizing iconoclasts were in some cases less likely to be excommunicated or subjected to real punitive measures. That leaves the perception of a real credibility problem for bishops and other church leaders pursuing the various models and customized styles of quasi-modernist "renewal."

Let's hope change in the right direction becomes the "norm" in the future. Catholics should never be subjected to non-Catholic or anti-Catholic ideological pressure and thought control at "Catholic" institutions.
