Sure. After all, they get to go to heaven too. At least in the Mormon way of thinking.

Wrigley, I've read your posts on the Religion forum, and I'm not going to get into with you. I learned long ago that there are two kinds of people in this world: people who are genuinely interested in one's religion and want to learn more, and people who just want to bait and debate. I don't think you sincerely care about what I believe.

***"We claim the privilege of worshipping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."***
Doesn't prevent the youngers [elders ???] on bikes from knocking on doors unsolicited and proselytizing to their religion.
None of us here require anyone believe anything. If someone wants to worship their navel, be my guest. Don't expect me to applaud their choice. I will encourage them to trust the finished work of Christ for forgiveness and eternal life while releasing their idolatrous home-made religion.
Some FR [FR5th Amendment]s claim they are being coerced. Baloney! These are mere words. Furthermore, they are anonymous. There is no leverage.
On the otherhand, if our posting historical documents and showing doctrinal inconsistencies causes someone to waiver, then the flaw is their object of faith, not our arguments.
BUT it is easier to whine to the mods in white coats, cry victimization and hit the abuse button. And around here that works.

I learned long ago that there are two kinds of people in this world: people who are genuinely interested in one's religion and want to learn more, and people who just want to bait and debate. Baiting and debating are two entirely different things, Luna. Debating is a sport - have you never heard of a High School Forensics Team? I was on one, and was quite good at it, thank you. Debating - if you and your opponent can still shake hands after crushing each other mercilessly in the ring - is great competitive sport. To be successful, you have to know your opponent and anticipate your opponent's intended arguments. I definitely enjoy engaging in it, and always learn something from my opponent, even if they fail to sway my opinion to their side. Like any sport, it's definitely no fun if your opponent is mis-matched.
Baiting is what you do to get a fish to bite the hook. It's also a useful test, if it's not done in an insulting or denigrating fashion, to see if the fish are hungry. And we have answered our Master's call to be fishers of men.
It's my observation from your own posts that you don't want your opponents to return your punches. That makes them your punching bags, and I call that bashing. So I'll respect your wishes, but not your position or your debating skills. You have lost the debate, by default.
I don't think you sincerely care about what I believe.
Likewise, I'm sure. Or else you'd be asking us more questions about what we believe, and why.

I'm not sure how long you need to cook a stone to make it edible, but I suppose its worth a shot.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! That's good. Thanks. I get overly competitive with debates, I suppose. I busted out laughing when you made the "I don't care" remark, because this was the first image that flashed through my mind. This is my hand-shaking-at-the-end-of-the-debate gesture. I had hoped you didn't think I wanted to stone you, and I was right (and I don't) :>)
"Blessed are the Cheese Makers" stands as probably the finest commentary on Bible interpretation I've ever heard. Likewise "A shoe! He has given us a sign!" is great when it comes to obedience. But the best, the absolute best commentary on miraculous healing ever uttered, has to be the guy who says "Lord, I'm afflicted with a bald patch".
On behalf of la petit cabal, I bid you Welcome!

Illbay, you are a very interesting case study. Thank you for showing the true meaning of Mormon Love. Marlowe & Delphinium, I appreciated the refresher course in the subject and hope you did too.
Oh the weather outside is frightsome, but in here it is White and Delightsome......
