OBSERVATIONS:
[1] There seems to be a significantly reduced number of Protestant Threads (KJV Only being the exception for sure) in the FR Religion Forum.
[2] There seems to be a reduced number of FR Protestant posts in the Religion Forum.
This thread is a place to discuss these observations.

you're shouting and you need to get a grip. Seems like you are here with a lot of built up anger for some reason and everybody and everything is going to piss you off no matter what... and so goes the religious forum, day after day

I know of one W/W/P that was banned after her religion was revealed. Her real name was also revealed by a poster here, but that person is still allowed to post.

Hey Jim. I just dropped in. I'm looking for my friends:'). I lurk here but I usually don't post. When the threads turn ugly I "git". I've seen catholics, mormans, and PROTESTANTS posting that need to be sat in the corner. Why not let us have a religious thread monitor to intervene before going to the "big guys"? This person could follow the threads and know what was being posted and intervene (if needed) before it got to abuse reporting. That way yall wouldn't be bothered with all the cry baby stuff. Just a suggestion. Please forgive me if my typing is shaky. We had a hail storm at work today and the internet went down and I'm still having "no free republic" withdrawal. lol
To: Coleus
Hi Coleus,Thanks for the ping.I read most of it and it is hard for me to follow because for the most part I stick to the prayer threads.I am guilty of posting a few things that I regret when it comes to Our Holy Father and priests.I posted with passion and I would say all of us do.A deep belief and a true love and wanting everyone to have the best, and knowing God in the best way can at times bring out the best and the worst.I can say I love our non-catholic's and they are great prayers,They are beautiful people who I work with everyday.I also learn much by reading the threads that are debating different things,I use some of this on the air.I would like to see the religion forum change to the prayer forum and all debate move to chat, many come to the religion forum in need of prayers and leave ,isn't that what we are here for-no matter what your faith is.I vote with Jim to get rid of religious forum and change to prayer.Move all debate to chat .

So Illbay calling anyone he disagrees with stupid, mentally ill and various other slanderous things is allright? I would like to know how personal attacks are ok but open discussion of a religion are not. Makes me think of the Stasi for some reason.

That is what you want for anyone who doesn't think like you Resty and that is a sad thing. I would rather debate with folks who don't get their underoos in a wad when questioned about their beliefs. Interestingly, Pagans, Christians, Jews and almost every non Mormon faith pattern (I am in California and there are so many belief systems I can't keep track of all of them) are happy to answer questions and clarify things someone read (whether or not the story/book/article or posting is friendly towards their religion). Mormons are the only folks I know who cannot accomplish this and it puzzles me.

Well, I'm a Catholic, but as far as I'm concerned, the more Protestants, the merrier. We need everyone we can get. And Catholics and Protestants need to learn how to rub along together and work on common interests.

Where are all the Taoists? Zoroasterians? Wiccans? Oh, I forgot. All of the above are in Ithaca and would never post on Free Republic. The Wiccans, at least, are in full force in Ithaca.
Ithaca is the City of Evil.

Jim, you know what, after watching this thread breakdown into a pissing match like every other... Oh get over it. You walked in here with a chip on your shoulder.
To: sandyeggo
TNS is a genre unto itself. I'm not a regular, I only wander through on occasion. Why does it have to conform to a certain level of religious discussion? These people all seem to be friends - why not share everyday news between posts pertaining to religion? Does a thread have to pass some sort of religiosity test? The point is that it is actually a General interest thread not really religion..and should be there not on the religion forum
