IF works can only condemn you, then why are we told to DO works????
Revelation 2:26
And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Revelation 2:5
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
IF works can only condemn you, then why are we told to DO works????
Note that it is only believers (those already saved ... i.e. not condemned) which are commanded to do good works.
It is the will of God that we (believers) do good works ... but, our works do not determine our standing (saved or not) with God.
We are saved to do good works, ... not because of any good works.Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Indeed, without faith (belief in God), it is impossible to please Him (do good works).
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
