With so much pope bashing these days, I found this article "interesting".

But this is not the end. The Church and the world continue for many centuries. No surprise there.

I don't think the Arabs will ever be able to take over more than their own backyards...which they're hardly able to even do that! Especially if we stop using oil by 2010 and switch to Hydrogen and the money faucet from West to East gets shut off quick! Of course, that could be the reason they attack Europe, because they're desperate.
In other words, everyone keep using oil so they don't attack us!

There used to be a great and lengthy article, a nice research piece, on this in the EWTN library but it has been yanked recently. It examined all the popes in St.Malachi's prophecy and matched his words to them in an uncanny way.
Some consider the last two entries as just one Pope. If I recall correctly, the last entry isn't even set down in the manner of the other Papal entries. I don't think it was enumerated as a separate Pope either. That may mean at that point the Papacy is in an underground Church.
Some think the last one listed will be captured and taken off to Iraq or some such place...and that echoes the gospel of St. John 21:18.
On the benedictine connection, it might be a play on the word benedict...one who speaks/tells well and not a direct tie to the rule of St. Benedict. Or it might be one who will start a new (very retro)version of the Benedictines due to the circumstances.

Very good! It is an eye popper especially with rumors of Pope JohnPaul I murdered etc.
It's also interesting to note that the sun has actually labored...greater sunspot activity, and Pope John Paul II was born during some solar episode.
To: NYer
It is very interesting. If the author is right, John Paul II will pass away this year, and we'll see a (possibly) black pope taking the name Benedict. I bookmarked this thread and if that really does come to pass, I'll ping you. :)

Well, if you look at how countries like France and Germany have begun to appease their Muslilm populations, which are ever-growing. The Muslims/Arabs may not have to do much fighting to take over. Isn't France already 10% Muslim?

It seems ironic that France is so anti-hate crime, yet there is so much anti-Semitism commited there by Arabian immigrants. My only hope is that those European countires with Arab populations are able to Westernize and educate them as an example to the less-developed Middle Eastern nations (who by lucky historical coincidence happen to be rich due to oil -- NOT by hard work as in the US).

Will never happen. The socialist western Europe is basically soulless at this point. They're worse than American liberals when it comes to multiculturalism and "tolerance." But it's not even a movement or a cause like it is here, it's embedded in the culture now there.

This pope was explained to me in a long-ago prophecy class as the "laboring sun" pope for the following reason: The sun is representative of God in the solar system, and the darkened sun is explained by his training coming from a nation in which God was forbidden to be taught publicly, hence the "laboring sun" or eclipse of the sun (darkened Sun). I, along with most of the class laughed at the idea of a pope coming from an iron curtain country, especially the Italians in the our little group.....However, the priest was right in 1964. We have a Polish pope, who, until the great Dominican teacher, Reginald Garrigou La Grange, taught him in the Angelicum in Rome, had a very poor religious formation due to his early religious training coming from behind the iron curtain in a forbidden seminary. This probably explains his startlingly inept and goofy behavior at times, which is certainly close to blasphemy, or in fact, is blasphemous(e.g.Kissing the Koran). Even a small town catholic school in America had better equipped teachers than JP II had in his home country.
The next pope will be "Gloriae Olivae" or from the glory of the olive. He will be an Olivetan branch Benedictine, who will, as God promised St Benedict, restore the church..ANOTHER MONK!!! GREAT!!!.The larger question is: How long between Popes will Rome be occupied by the enemy, who is firmly ensconced there presently?
St Malachy's predictions are simply a comfort to us, as is the rest of prophecy. Fun, but maybe inaccurrate. PAX and pray hard for the troops...

Just out of curiosity, are there any cardinals who match this description?
Domestic Church makes an interesting point, though. The sunstorm activity over the past few year has been higher than usual. Coincidence?

Interesting explanation, actually a comfort to a degree, in helping us understand the strange incidents. I can't help but wonder if some Cardinals elected him because they thought he would be easily handled.
Do you think the next Pope will be a Benedictine before he is elected or do think there is a possibility that he will by necessity become one?

Is there a Cardinal Martini ???? :0) LOL!! And, yes, there is!

My money, however, is on this cardinal who is conidered very papabile.
Pope Benedict XVI will be like Saint Benedict, who lived in the fifth and sixth centuries. He will be a man dedicated to Peace and holiness. But this Pope will also be like Saint Benedict the Black, il moro santo, who lived in the sixteenth century. I am not certain, but I think that Pope Benedict XVI will be black.

The olive connection might not have been made yet. We haven't been blasted back to the dark ages...yet.

My personal thought is that he is definitely a "Wheelchair Pontiff" who was elected as a compromise pope during a period of great acrimony and duress between Libs and Conservatives in Rome. Hence, the eight elections (or seven, as some claim). One group wheels him in one direction for a distance, then another turns him and pushes him in another direction, much to the utter confusion of the right-minded faithful.
Most prophetic visions state that the next "Restoration" pope (Gloriae Olivae) will be picked by a "heavenly light" being shown on him. (College of Cardinals extinct through corruption of the anti-forces in Rome?) The likely candidate is from a Traditional Benedictine monastery somewhere, who is of no importance in the present corrupt version of the church.....A highly-gifted man of God and the Benedictine Rule, who will follow the likes of previous great monk-popes. e.g. St. Gregory the Great. We need him badly and soon. Pray for JP II to somehow find the way back, even with his limited faculties. When he does, he will head into exile for his final days...Then what? I don't have a clue as to the duration or the deeds we face in our troubled land of the Roman Catholic Church. Close your eyes tight and pray hard for a soft landing I guess...PAX.

Sounds like the right man for the job! Your words "most prophetic visions" have me wondering. Who else connected this last Pope with the Benedictine order?
