Truth and Meatloaf
Sapphires | Jonathan Cahn

The Hebrew word for truth is "Emet." Suppose you are in a marriage and your partner cooks meatloaf that tastes terrible. And you tell them it is delicious. The truth is you want to throw it out, but you tell them it's fine. Then you don't have to deal with hurting their feelings. And they don't have hurt feelings to deal with. And nobody deals with the meatloaf. For the rest of your life you're doomed to eating rotten meatloaf...all because you didn't want to deal with the truth. We tend to think that the easiest thing is to simply avoid the truth when it is hard

The truth is the opposite. The truth sets you free - to be saved and live a life of fullness and peace. Forcing yourself to be truthful, forces you to deal with things and bring them to God's Grace. When you do this, you're free. As it is written, "Manifest the truth in love." In God's love you can deal with truth and be free. The Lord is truth, and you are now a person of truth. Choose truth...it's better than rotten meatloaf.

TODAY'S MISSION
Where have you been less truthful than you should be? Today confront the truth, first with yourself and then with whoever else you need to. Thank the Lord for the feeling of peace that will come over you.

John 3:21
But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."
