It has to be one of the most pure and holy things that ever happened on the planet...the virgin birth. When it happened, however, it wasn't considered pure or holy or beautiful. It was considered a scandal. Yosef and Miryam, (Joseph & Mary), weren't married yet. So the world looked on it as scandalous. So it is with God. What He does is pure and holy and beautiful. Don't expect the world to recognize it. The new birth is the most pure of things, but you can't expect the old to understand it. It caused a scandal with Miryam and it's bound to cause a scandal in your life.
Don't let that stop you! The miracles of God will always be scandalous to a non-miraculous world. Go with the miracle anyway. Spread the Gospel anyway. Love your enemies anyway. Stepping out in faith will always be scandalous, but do it anyway, and you'll see the miracle of walking on water. Don't fear the scandal. Embrace the new life from Heaven and let it have its way. The scandal is temporary, but the miracle is forever.
TODAY'S MISSION
Make it a point today to let no problem cause you to lose your peace. Do not become discouraged. Offer it up to God instead.
