For some reason I thought St. Francis made this devotion popular - must have it confused with Nativity scenes.
The point made concerning Mary visiting the places of the Passion was also interesting. It makes perfect sense. It also makes sense that our early forebears in the Faith would do so as well. And people wonder where the source of Sacred Tradition comes from. Helps in understanding why we know Jesus fell 3 times, or Veronica wiping our Lord's face, since these particular details are not found in the Gospel accounts.
