The rabbis of old spoke of two Messiahs. One they called Mashiach Ben David. He was the Messiah who would subdue the nations, and reign on David's throne, in glory, forever. The other, they called Mashiach Ben Yosef, Messiah, son of Joseph. He was the Messiah who would come humbly, suffer and die for our sins. Now, it is clear in the Bible that there is only one Messiah, He is both glorious and humble, victorious and suffering. The only person who sums up all this is Yeshua Ha Nitzeret, Jesus of Nazareth. If Messiah were only glorious and victorious it would be hard for Him to identify with us, and us with Him. He is the Messiah of victory. He is also the Messiah of sorrow and rejection, and suffering.
Whatever difficulty you are going through, you've got a Messiah for that too. You've got a friend. Someone to identify with and who can identify with you. When you are doing well, you have the Messiah. And when you are not doing well you have a second Messiah. He's the same Messiah. He's going through it all with you. Lean on Him, and He'll share His blessings with you, in His joy
TODAY'S MISSION
Today, as you enter your private place with the Lord, bring Him your sorrows and your joys. Praise Him for helping you in all situations. Go out in His love without fear, and share His Good Word with others.
Obedience, pure and simple, opens up a pathway for the work of God.
David Stevens
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
