"Nachal" is Hebrew for "wadi". A wadi is a water course without water, a dried up river bed. In Israel it rains mostly in winter. In summer, the wadis are a sign of the rains that once fell...and of rains to come. When the rains come, the wadis fill with rivers. That's what Scripture means when it says, "I will give rivers in the desert." We are all like wadis. We were made to flow with the Spirit of God. When we're not in His Spirit, we feel dry. This can happen to your life too. You once flowed with God's Love, but then you let it stop and become dry. But a wadi promises that a river will flow again.
If you are feeling dry and empty in your walk - Praise the Lord! It's a sign your life was meant to be filled. Turn to the Lord. He promises, "I will give you rivers...in the desert." When you open your heart and bring your emptiness to Him, your life will flow with the fresh waters of God.

Where do you feel dry or burdened? Pour out your heart to God. Let Him touch you and take a step to make changes as He leads.
