The Jewish people have been waiting for Messiah for at least two thousand years. In Rabbinic writings there's a story about it. A man approaches the prophet Elijah and says, "Elijah, where can I find the Messiah?" Elijah answers, "You'll find Him at the gate of the city, dwelling with the sick, the lepers, the lame, healing them." The man goes to the city gate and then returns. "Did you find the Messiah?" Elijah asks. "Yes" The man replied. "So?" said Elijah. "So, He lied to me!" said the man. "I asked Messiah, when are You going to come and save Your people? When are You going to bring redemption? And when are You going to set up Your Kingdom of everlasting righteousness?'' "He told me today. So He lied to me."
Elijah looked at the man and said, "He didn't lie to you. When He told you He would come today, He spoke the truth." "As it is written," said Elijah, "Today...if you hear." These are the exact same words quoted again and again in the Book of Hebrews regarding Messiah and you. When will Messiah come? When will He bring peace in your life? When will you find His joy, and know victory...Today..if you hear. Messiah only comes today for those who hear, and receive His Word in faith.
TODAY"S MISSION
Write down one word today the name "Messiah". Carry it with you today to remind you of His presence in your life.
10) But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11) And He said to them, "To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, 12)so that
"Seeing they may see and not perceive, And hearing they may hear and not understand; Lest they should turn, And their sins be forgiven them."'
A while back I was surfing a bunch of Christian websites and came across a cool animation of the Resurrection(or maybe I got it off freerepublic, I don't remember) but I liked it, and thought I'd share it. CLICK HERE!
